Raffle Terms & Conditions


Thank you for supporting UK Astronomy. These terms and conditions refer to the UK Astronomy Anniversary raffle.

The cost of each ticket entry into the UK Astronomy Anniversary raffle is £3. You may purchase more than one ticket.

No tickets can be sold to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 16 years old. Any person who has entered the UK Astronomy Anniversary raffle who is under 16 years old will automatically forfeit any prize and will be excluded from future entries.

This raffle is open to all residents of mainland Great Britain (this excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands). UK Astronomy trustees cannot enter the raffle.

Monies raised by this raffle will support the purchase of an inflatable planetarium for UK Astronomy (Registered charity number 1190172). Payment for participation in the raffle can be made by debit card only.

UK Astronomy accepts no responsibility for raffle tickets which are lost, damaged, illegible or from which the prize-winner cannot be identified, or for any technical failure or event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.

The raffle will be drawn on 5th December at 2pm by Nasa Solar System Ambassador Janelle Harrier Wilson. 5 raffle tickets will be drawn randomly.

1) The first ticket number drawn will receive the Stargazing, Dinner & Stayover for 2 People.
2) The second ticket number drawn will receive the Stargazing Bundle.
3) The third ticket number drawn will receive the Astrophotography Bundle.
4) The fourth ticket number drawn will receive Kids Space Bundle 1.
5) The fifth ticket number drawn will receive Kids Space Bundle 2.

The result of the raffle draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Winners will be notified by post, email, or telephone no later than two weeks after the draw date.

Names of winners and results of the raffle will be advertised on our website and and will be available on receipt of request by contacting us using the form on the contact us page.

Please keep the ticket number as proof of purchase.

Where UK Astronomy is unable to contact a prize-winner so that a prize remains unclaimed for one month following UK Astronomy’s first attempt to notify the prize-winner, UK Astronomy may apply the prize as it sees fit, including by re-offering the prize in future raffles.

All winners are required to co-operate with UK Astronomy's right to publish their win as and where deemed appropriate, and to provide proof of age when requested.

UK Astronomy has a small society lottery permit: 158487. This licence is issued to the promoter "UK Astronomy" under Schedule 11 of the Gambling Act 2005.

In the event of an error, howsoever caused, and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the competition in any way, the organiser reserves the right to administer the raffle as though the error had not occurred. Where the organiser deems it appropriate and / or feasible UK Astronomy will notify entrants of the error.

Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.

Responsible Gambling

Complaints
Any complaints regarding our raffle can be made directly to UK Astronomy by contacting us using the form on the contact us page.

We will aim to respond to initial complaints and queries within 48 hours of receipt of the complaint. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved, the matter will be escalated appropriately.

Every complaint will be taken seriously and fully considered by UK Astronomy in order that a satisfactory resolution can be achieved.
